Looking for Battery Disconnect Mod

I'm looking to pick your brains for a battery disconnect mod.
I know about the positive terminal knife switch but wanted to see what others use as well as management of the battery compartment.

Scroll down this thread & you'll find the switch I used. I mounted it on the A frame between the battery box & the front wall of the trailer.

I found out afterwards BEP Marine is affiliated w/ Marinco. Coast Dist' also carries a similiar switch.

Here's another option. You can replace the battery box and just pull the neg. cable. This box also has 12 volt receptacles.

I also used the Blue Sea battery switch but I used the one for
a single battery as I did not want to run extra battery leads
back to the power center area.
I mounted the switch in the toe kick area under the cabinet right
next to my power center.
It was an easy mod and took only one beer to complete!

While I was in that area with the cabinet opened up I
also added another 15 amp circuit breaker to the 120v side
and stuck another duplex receptacle next to the battery
switch. Now we can perk coffee AND have our electric heater
on at the same time without tripping a breaker.

It worked fine.

I have 2 batteries in my bank and wanted a way to remove DC power from the rig when I worked on the DC powered items without removing fuses or cables.

I also use the 701 Marine Batt Switch. We just drilled holes in the top of our current battery box and mounted it right to the top. We attached ours to the positive cables and brought over our powerjack to it as well.

It is very nice to know that when you want the battery cut off, it is completely cut off.
