I've been on some rough roads and have had a lot of things open/happen back there, but I've never had even an inkling of the microwave coming open.

I assume it does happen- I've read about it a few times.

the noodle idea has nothing to do with the microwave door coming open during travel, I've never heard of that happening either,......the reason for using the noodle, or the bread, or the pillows, or anything else that has been mentioned is to prevent the microwave turn table from vibrating up and off of the turning knob that drives it when microwaving,......that does happen, almost every time that we have traveled before, but not now that we're using the noodle........
