Mirror for the Wife
Hey, we've all been there. Got the new trailer, go camping, and you hear the words from inside the trailer, "I can't find a mirror" Then you tell your darling spouse that the only mirror is in the bathroom. Now the complaints start, that mirror ain't big enough to see to brush your teeth.........
Well I remedied my situation by going to the glass place and having two mirrors made, custom size, to just fit inside the panels in the closet doors. I put them up with double-sided mirror mounting tape, and added clips just in case. This was done on the inside part of the door. I bought the special glue but was afraid it wouldn't stick to the door panel, plus I didn't want to remove the doors and sand the finish off the panels so the glue would stick. I I also thought about the glue getting hot during times of non-use. Instead I decided on the 3M mounting tape, the double-sided stuff with the foam in the middle. Ran 3 pieces the full length of each mirror, and then added 4 clips for insurance. Be sure to use short screws on the clips so they don't go all the way through the door. My mirrors wound up 8.5 inches by 39.5, and now the wife is happy. When she wants a big mirror, she can open the closet door, and there it is. She can open the other door and have two mirrors. As for me, I'm always happy, at least as long as the wife is. Total cost, about $50.00, 2 trips to the glass place, and 1 hours time. Hope somebody else finds this useful.
