Mod to increase AC air flow in Lexington?

I read on another thread about an owner who increased the air flow of their air conditioner significantly with a modification to enlarge the opening above the unit. This mod did not look applicable to the configuration in my motorhome but the concept seemed applicable across products.

Has anyone done a modification like this to their C or B+?

I tested this by opening up the "supervent" in my AC which, of course, sounds like a freight train, but it did result in better cooling. And, when you are in the Midwest struggling against 106 degree heat, it's "any port in a storm".

There is, of course, no AC system that can adequately handle such high temps but I am interested in getting everything out of the system I can get!

I just added foam rubber inside the ducting at the last register on each branch. The duct continues past the registers to the front and rear end of the motorhome? or is it sealed at the ends. Who knows but with adding the foam rubber to create a end cap right at the register really has made a difference to the air flow. Each AC doesn't run as long and temperature is easily maintained.

Great idea and an easy way to address the problem and increase air flow! I have lots of foam leftover from cutting my memory foam to fit the short queen. Thanks!
