Mod to Water heater 110 VAC

Yesterday I finally made the mod to my AC cut off/on switch to the hot water tank.

As you know the turn on/off switch is located on the Suburban SW6DE six gallon hot water tank outside the RV, by opening the hot water door, locating the switch bottom left corner.

On the 8285WS just below the 110V outlet on the front of the sink/kitchen cabinet, I installed a switch with a pilot (neon) light. Used a 15 amp switch from Lowe's. Could not find a black or brown one. had to paint the switch black. Removed the wiring from the plug for HWT, added a splice box to lengthen the wire to switch and back to the 110VAC outlet. Now I can control the hot water tank from inside.

If you have the counter extension (of course it is unstable when being used) here is a mod also to make it stable.
Purchase two pins with rings and fishing leader, drill holes in the tabs that stick into to cabinet surface mounting brackets. Once the counter ext is in place, push pins into holes, Presto, stable counter extension.
