Wife and I have been spending some time sprucing up our rig, (and doing a fair amount of camping as well.)
Last night we worked on installing a second roof AC unit in the front bedroom.
Our's is a 50amp unit, but it was not pre-wired for a second AC. This meant running the wire would be the biggest challenge of the job. I was going to go under the rig, and feed it up through the corner cap, wife suggested pulling the cap trim and see if there was access all the way back, from there. Turned out to be a good idea and that is what we did. (sorry for the bad pictures, sun was in the exact wrong spot.)
In these pictures you might see we ran (2) wires. One is for the A/C unit we are adding, the other is for an additional outlet, to be installed in the front cargo compartment. That outlet will power the little pancake air compressor we carry on the rig.
This gave us a direct run back to the cabinet above the fridge.
Another of my lovely brides ideas, was too take the telescoping pool pole, slide it in to the required distance, then slide the 12-2 inside of that.
Using this method we were able to get to the area above the fridge. That cabinet has a false wall in back, once that is removed the guts of the wiring are exposed.
Once in that cabinet, the wires will drop behind the fridge and into the space behind the panel box. Wires will be zip tied to the rig's original loom, not shown here.
I removed a "knock out" added a wire clamp and the wires are ready for the new breaker.
