Mods & resale value-bed mod

I am modifying the master bed frame. Taking it from 1 big square of inaccessible (except for when you lift up the bed), to front access, along with side access. I'm also reinforcing the bed by the dividing frame, and using several 2x2's instead of 1x2's. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Anyway, I was thinking is it possible that I might not be able to trade this unit in (upgrade) one day? It sure wasn't very strong, or user friendly to begin with.

Have any permanent mods you've done decreased your unit's value?

My experience is if it looks good and matches in the end they cant tell it isn't factory.

In the first 3 months I owned my TT we cut the bumper off Engineered a back rack welded to the frame and then added the rear bumper back on looks like factory welds (maybe better) and fits like a glove to the trailer.

Under warranty, its been to 3 dealers so far and one was the purchasing dealer and they all thought it was a factory add on.

My point is there are so many changes between years and manufacturers and factory add ons that the dealers cant remember them all and without looking up the bill of sale or contacting the manufacturer with the vin and then going through it with a fine tooth comb they just don't know. Not to mention their interested in getting you into a new one.

By the way looks good.

Oh, and we added a "cubby" to the other side of the bed (left side came with one). The dealer acctually asked me for the paper work from the sale because he was going to order all of his TT like that and wanted to know what the code for it was.

I told him that I did it myself and that he had sold me the plastic trim for the hole.

That's exactly what I did, but put in one cubby on each side of the bed, and one in front.

I can't believe how much trouble I'm having with my pics...

Our cubbys are up by our heads creating a "top of nightstand" kind of hole in our cabinets next to the bed. I actually like the big hole under the bed I stuff all kinds of things in there.

As for pictures I usually put them in photobucket and then click the link, and then paste it to the little pop up box that comes up after clicking the mountain scene on the post box

Oh, OK, I get ya. my cubbies are under the bed...although with the pic posted, it looks like they're on the ceiling... sigh...

My hubby updated the OS on the ipad, and now my photobucket ap isn't working. Now i'm using the PC, and I should be able to get some good pics up.

Even with the totes, there is still 6-8", where a small suitcase will fit.

That looks really neat,

we wouldn't be able to do that our bed is walk around but just. so the Tip up big box thing helps us the best, but we did do something like that for our couch. It faces the kitchen the same way your bed does and it had this nice fabric covered board under it we took that off and we were able to fit 3 Very large tubs under it. we use them for a pantry. my wife only filled 2 of them for the 4 of us to go ten days never ate out once.

we used a metal closet pole to hold them in but to be honest they sit in the almost dead middle of the trailer so they never seem to move or bounce much.
