Not really a mod, but I use the U shaped baby latches to keep the cabinet doors closed in transit. Also helps to keep the slides from ripping off the doors when they pop open and aren't noticed. But I wouldn't know anything about that *whistling*.

Refrigerator door latch mod

The door on our refrigerator of our a-frame would not stay closed during transit as the door latch would not hold securely. I simply took off the plastic tab on the door that the latch clips over and put a couple of stainless steel flat washers (size #6, I think) that fit the hole the tab fits into perfectly. This raised the lock just high enough to allow the latch to secure the door tightly. Cost about two cents....

Added a reverse switch to our front fantastic fan. Much cheaper than the upgrade kit.

Great mods. Any detail on the fan reverse switch? Where you get it? How do you wire?

Would have to be a dpdt with center off.

The switch is a DPDT ( double pole double throw). Bought at HD for around $4. The switch has screw type contacts on the back, so I just added crimp on style connectors to the wiring.
After making all the connections so the switch is wired to reverse the polarity, I unscrewed the panel from the fantastic fan to expose the wires. You have to cut the supply wires coming into the fan and add the switch between the supply wires and the fan connections.
This mod does require some basic wiring skills and knowledge of how the fan is wired. I already had the wire and all the connectors for it.

If you do a search online there are numerous writeups on it, especially how to wire the DPDT switch to make it reverse the polarity.

You can also purchase an upgrade kit from the ultra breeze/fantastic fan company as well if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. They sell you the entire trim piece with the switch already pre-wired.

I've attached another photo and a close up of the switch with trim panel removed.
