mounting items to interior walls

Hi Everybody,
We are planning to use our 17" laptop for our "entertainment system". Needless to say, laptop speakers are not very good. I want to mount a short sound bar on the wall just below the ceiling. I saw an article that says pop rivets work well in camper walls. The bracket system that comes with the bar uses two brackets that each have two holes in them. I think the rivets would probably work but I wonder if any of you experienced campers have had luck with any particular type of anchor system. I have accumulated quite a selection of anchors over the years but I am unfamiliar with the construction of a Salem Cruise Lite interior wall. This sound bar weighs ten lbs and is about thirty inches long. Any guidance that you camping veterans can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Michael.

The collapseable hollow door anchors along with a washer work well as long as you're not hanging much weight. I've done that mounting for a 3 towel rack in the washroom.

Pop rivets are probably OK for lightweight stuff but may not hold the 10# bar. IMHO, a toggle bolt type anchor would support more weight than rivets, screws or plastic type anchors.

I think I would get a pc of wood to match the paneling and make a backer board and glue & screw the board to the wall and then anchor the sound bar to it.

X2 with what dunnnc said. When I wanted to put a TV mount in the "master bedroom" on our Grey Wolf I took a piece of 1X6 and happen to have some stain that matched the cabinets pretty good. I just pre-drilled and counter sunk 4-2.5" screws (2 on each end
of the board) then mounted that to the wall, then mounted the swivel TV mount to that. It was quick and simple, also whenever we sell the camper it can be removed and there will only be 4 small 1/8" holes that can easily be filled.
