Mouse Trail Mod
MY DW told me she could smell a mouse in a relatively new Silverback. When I took the grate off the furnace grill, we found a group of mouse pellets. Looking inside there is large hole for electrical wires. On the other side of the hole is the basement behind the service station. Also found mouse pellets in the basement. I looked underneath the RV and there was a large hole near the service station.
As you can there is a very nice mouse trail up the water hose.
My solution was to cover that area with piece of plywood, build a little box on top and fill the box with steel wood. There is a plastic top to see the steel wool and later change it, if necessary. Now the mouse runs up the water hose and runs into a snug hole that is filled with steel wool if he can squeeze through. This steel wool mouse barrier is easy to install after hook up by passing the hose and cable through the snug holes in mouse barrier.
BTW. I looked at the service stations in a Cougar and Montana fifth wheels. Keystone actually has a barrier between the service station and the storage area, so if a mouse would get into that area, it could not get to the rest of the RV. Forrest River ought to consider a similar design
