is that not a pest control company? $5 a unit to see if there is bugs living in it? lol..

$5 a unit means 201 units were looked at before yours.

Election Day is Tuesday for some places. Be sure and vote for all the incumbents so we will be able to keep all the policies going that they have worked so hard to put in place, for our benefit.

Here's a pic of the trailer's condition as of yesterday. I'm pretty much disgusted with the floor insulation. Another item of near-future upgrade I guess.

Yep, in process. Floor insulation is definitely forthcoming.
For real, yeah mobile home manufacturers must have incredibly small scrap piles. My wife and I had a doublewide on a private lake lot in Michigan a few years ago. I was doing some remodeling in the master bedroom closet. It was nothing to find studs spliced together with 3 seperate pieces. The grand-prize winner was a stud that was put together with 6 seperate pieces! They didn't use the metal spike things to splice them, they were cut with matching grooves, then glued together. Some of the pieces in my prize-winning stud were as short as 3-4". It was straight and strong though!

Here's a pic I found online that shows a typical wall stud in a manufactured home:

A few more pics & updates on the trailer. New flooring is in throughout the trailer, and the super-sized bathroom is coming together. Should have the trailer back this week. Here's a few more pics (in various stages). The short cabinet will serve as a riser for the Splendide washer/dryer, and the converter was moved into this cabinet.

Thanks guys... Nope Stuff, I couldn't afford to have them do it so it's something I'll most definitely take care of myself as soon as possible (will probably be a "next year" wish-list project).

It may be easier to insulate before the floor goes down. That way you don't have to mess with the underlayment.

BTW : I have a FR Fema camper. I have used it for a deer season and a turkey season.
I added a water tank and pump and dump to a blue tank. When I am ready to go leave on Sunday evening I load the tank and generator and head out.
With 35+ nights and saving 15-20 80 mile trips I think I will save enough money to help offset the purchase price (2100).

I did find a soft spot in the bath room. It looks like it is grey water (soapy and no smell ). I have not found where it came from yet. It may have been an overflow in the bathtub.
It pooled in the underpayment. Last weekend I removed the sheeting and pulled out the wet insulation. This weekend I am going to run the water an see I can find a leak in the gray line coming from the sink.

I am planning on adding black and gray tanks and a RV toilet. First I am going to replace the whole floor in the bathroom. I could get by with just a 3X3 area but I think it would be easier to re-plumb and insulate with the floor out.

I have a question, the washer/dryer hookups.. did you just drill a hole through the floor for the drain? how about venting?

Sorry Stuff, been away from the forum for a bit, been SO busy with getting the trailer back and putting stuff in it. To answer your questions, the drain plumbing runs under the riser the w/d is sitting on, so we just Tee'd into it with a 1 1/2" drain pipe coming up about 15". The dryer vent is installed directly in line with the outlet on the dryer, so it's a really direct & short vent.

Here's some new pics of the kitchen & W/D setup. in the second pic, the button on the side wall is for the garbage disposal. Also on that wall is the new digital t-stat. I ended up returning the 220v tankless water heater and getting a 10 gal. 110v unit instead. There seems to be plenty of hot water, but the water heater and w/d are on the same circuit and they don't like to share. I think my 50 amp conversion will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. As you can see from the pics, I still have a bit of trim work & caulking to finish up in the kitchen.
