I wasn't so lucky, or skilled.. Getting in the channel was difficult to say the least, but managed to squeeze it in. After disconnecting plug and IR box my power awning wouldn't close all the way, pulled lights out and closed up. Looking for alternatives for mounting.

Finally got my lights mounted and the wire ran. Got a chance to play with them for a few minutes before the storm hit Sunday night. Thanks to Wagon 52 who showed me his awning on Sunday. Jeff I hope you enjoyed your weekend.

Mine slid right into channel "sideways"
Just have to remove power supply and roll them up into awning.

Bit of a Glitch to be alert for.
Since I have yet to permemantly mount the white control box to the side of the camper I have been removing it prior to travel. The "male" part of the LED stripand the power cord has been left to dangle under the rolled up awning.
It has traveled fine for 4 days but when I arrived in Wright Pat, the 4 pins (that I thought were part of the connector) were gone. Turns out there is not a male and female connector, but 2 female ones. There are 4 tiny pins in the LED strip that can come out if the conditions are right.
About 15 minutes with the smallest diameter solid bell wire in my electrical kit and my trusts Leatherman and I was back in business.
I need to bump my weatherproof housing to the top of my To Do list.

Yes I noticed this to Lou.
I thought it was tight enough to not be concerned. Hmmm that just went out the window.
I was thinking maybe installing a positive locking weather pack connector.
I guess I'll pull out the one on the other end for a spare.
Thanks for the h.u.

I order mine a week ago. Leave for a 3 week trip on the 14th. So I bet mine will not be in or on till after that. I plan to install them on camper under awning.

Mine took exactly 10 ten days from order to door.
I slide mine in the rail as well.

May try sliding it in rail first. Do you have to do anything special to get it in groove?

Lol. Whatever floats your boat! Keep on keepin on! *peace fingers*
Seriously, though, everyone says they just snuggly slide into the grooves in the drum.
edit: sideways that is, not straight on.

No tools needed just slide led strip in sideways lights will point up or down in rail not out.
This makes the lights not so bright!
If brightness is what you want after trying that install method then you'll have to do what herk did and two side tape them to wall under awning mount facing outward.
