Yes, if you want to take them down every time. These guys are mounting them semi-permanent.

So far so good. Will let you know this weekend (photos coming too).

I did put a big glop of RTV on the end of the LED strip with the plugs to keep wind blast from pulling on the plug and peeling it off.
I hope it works.

Things that you need to do:

1) Cut the strip on the correct end using the built in jumper sections to the exact length you need. Not cutting there will cause the mis-cut section not to light.

2) Mount the light strip somehow to the camper or awning (using the strip that comes with double sided tape already attached; adding your own tape, or jamming it into the necessary slot.

3) getting 12 volt 1.2 amp power to the control box. This can be done by running a two wire (red and black normally) from a source like a 12 volt light fixture and wiring it to the short "pigtail" that plugs into the control box (supplied with mine).

4) OR if you want to plug it into an extension cord, buying the correct transformer (see below) and doing it that way.

I guess we haven't camped in the kind of campgrounds you all do...
I just like to sit and relax around a campfire with friends and a cold beer....not sure I would appreciate camping next to a Las Vegas show with runway lights!
