Well isn't that why we got these lights so people, would notice us. Ha ha!

Ok here is my question I got my lights over two years ago when you had to take the cheep double sided tape off and replace the tape with 3M heavy duty tape. Wow that was a chore, so now my lights have issues and it is time to replace them. When I went to pull down the old lights from the rain gutter under the awning, the strip comes off but not the tape, looks like I will have to work that out with some elbow grease. New lights have 3m better quality tape on them, so do I risk taking down the old and putting up the new tape to tape, or better safe the sorry, take down the old, clean the track and put up the new? What's your suggestions?

You are very welcome. Good luck I hope it works. I just put a 16 foot strip on my rig with an RF receiver. Going out for the first time on Sat. Can't wait to annoy my friends with what they call 7 color jumpy. :-)

Just re-did mine and ran into the same issue. That OEM tape held great.
In fact it held so good (and NOTHING up to and including acetone) would remove it. I just stuck the new lights right on top of it.

Are these runing off your 12v system or shore power. we boondock and i would rather have a 12v solution to replace the led strip that came from the factory. It is 12v and runs off the battery.

These are all 12 volt and relatively low power.
About the draw of 1 incandescent bulb per string.

AND BRIGHT!

If the left over tape is in good shape, just slightly wipe it off with paint thinner to reactivate the sticky and clean off the dirt. The new tape will stick right to the old surface.
