Yes. If plugged in, the AC adapter has a little green light.

My 5050 came in today, much brighter. The installation took 15 minutes, stuck the strip on awning roller, a long zip tie at both ends to secure the strip and to redirect the connector under the awning, 44 key remote is fun.

Wife is rolling her eyes ...

For all you guys who have these LED strips on the canopy roll and leave them there when you roll up your canopy. The plug at the end doesn't put any kind of creases or bulges in your canopy whens its all the way rolled up? I have a manual awning and if I let my strap roll up on of it self and not spread it out I can see the line in the canopy the next time I unroll it..

Cord end sticks out and doesn't roll up inside

I took Papap's suggestion when I got home today, connected to 12v and lights work perfectly. Requested the seller send a new AC adapter, hopefully his customer service is good

It all depends on how you want it. It is a wee small connector.

In my case I used a long tie-wrap on the roller and light strip, to flip the end connector back in, under the awning. I stuck a piece of velcro on the awning and the controller. This way all is protected if it rains.

Once I'm done I remove the controller and the AC adapter and power cord and store all this in a little bag.

I then roll up the awning. The light strip with its tiny connector and the velcro stay there, protected from the elements. No marks or bump, No issues at all.

I bought these on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00

I saw where some of you bought the same ones. What did you do with the opposite end from the power supply. Mine just has the 4 conductors hanging out. I assumed there was something to cap them with but all I found were some things that look like end caps but you would have to cut the wires off to use them. I was planning on isolating them and taping them up. Just wondering what some of you did.

I bought that same set. Mine won't be here until Wednesday though.

I cut mine off at the cut line (every 3 or 4 LED sets depending on model).

I bought a set of these and love them. Before I go through all 42 pages of this thread, is there anywhere in here that tells us how to program them with the DIY buttons on the remote? The instructions to the set I purchased does not say how the DIY buttons work. Also, I saw some lights that have a "chasing" feature. Mine does not have a button for this so I am wondering if it is just the set I got or whether that has to be programmed via the DIY button on the remote.
