Cyclepuck, as I bought these some time ago...and due to a million reason haven't put them on yet...I really like the controller inside the scare light...my question is wiring into the scare light, without having looked at these, I am assuming that the power supply converts from 115 vac to 12 vdc. My only other question would be the heat from the scare light does it negatively affect the controller?

Thanks.

The light bulb is removed and the power wire is re-routed to the controller.
The scarelight housing and power is just a somewhat weatherproof housing for the strip light controller.

Hmm, DW likes the scare light, so I need to keep this thought and rethink it a bit. I really like the clean install that provides.

I put a led bulb in my outside light with a clear lens. The led bulb gives off a good amount of light and runs cool. Something to think about.

Just got another set and thinking of outlining the door frame and under the door and getting the power from the outside step light. Have to consult TOWTA on that and maybe do it VERY temporarily.
