Anyway, I am looking for the part that plugs into the control box with sensor and has 2 leads coming from it to hard wire. Looking for where others bought it and what its called.

Hopefully this makes sense.

We got our first trip coming up on the 15th and would like to have these totally installed. Snow should finally be done here in MN.
I took my wire and control box to Radio Shack. 1) match up the ends. 2) get a 3 footish "extension" cord that had connectors on both sides (cut one off to have bare wires) or the little hobbyists pigtail with is like 10 inches and has bare wires.

DC Plug Connectors

Radio Shack has them...make sure your wire them carefully as they do take a small wire only..they need to be soldered....

The DC Plug for the LED Controller is DC Connector: 5.5mm X 2.1 DC male

As mentioned, you can purchase this at most Radio Shacks.

The ones I just got in can be cut every 3 leds, as most of them can. My question is: Do they make a connector of some sort that lets you connect the string of leds in the middle somewhere. I want to wire mine to my door light, but of course the string needs to go past the door. I had the thought of just dropping down to the door light from where the led strip passes over. Hence, I need to connect in the middle instead of the end.

You are looking at soldering them together.

You can purchase these connectors with short wires attached:

6pcs Connector Wire for 5050 RGB LED Strip Light 10mm Width PCB Ribbon No Weld | eBay

Or you can solder (preferred method) as previously stated.

Here's an eBay site that has a ton of LED Strip Light related products.

Found the photo I was looking for, they are about two bucks each, you gotta have this to make connecting the bare end to a dc source:

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, all of them great. I did some more searching and found the following, which should do the trick. Will use liquid tape all around to waterproof, once installed.

I was out at my parents house today and my dad pulled their 2013 Open Range 5er out of the shed. I knew it had lights mounted in the awning tube from the factory, but after first seeing this thread I was wondering how they ran the wiring for the lights. It turns out that the wiring is sewn into the edge of the awning fabric. I never thought of running the wires to the tube that way. Just some info I figured I would pass along incase someone was looking for another way to run and hide the wiring.

We have our first trip on the 17th. I hope the snow is done by then here in WI. On Monday it was 84 degs here then Thursday we got 4 inches of snow, just 60 miles north my in-laws had over 14 inches of snow. This time last year we had already been camping!

Good luck with the install, and pray for no more snow!

They don't ship to Canada What is the big deal about shipping stuff here. I realize it's a foreign country, but it's not like we are on the other side of the world

Might be filling out the customs/duty papers. I tried and it is a hassle.

I have shipped many things to the USA over the years (had a small mostly online business myself about 10 yrs ago) & it wasn't really that big of a deal. Had a friend buy a motorcycle rim & back rack for my motorcycle & ship them in a wooden crate for only $75 He didn't seem to think there was any extra hassle involved

Thanks for the offer Found another source on E-bay that will ship for Free from Hong Kong. It amazes me that a company can ship something across the globe for less than a retailer who lives South of the 49th I prefer to buy local (North America) but sometimes the road blocks are extreme. I guess no cash for them is better than some cash when it comes to Canadians even though all payments are in American dollars.

For every customer you have helped; I Thank You

You are welcome and it is no problem. We have a lot of Canadians that tell us others won't ship to them and that is ridiculous. When I use the on line shipping, there is only a couple things extra I have to type and that is, what is included and the weight/price. Then just click print. There is now tracking to Canada so things should be easier than before.
