Where did you buy or order the GIP Aluminum Channel.. Is it only available on line?

I purchased the GIP Channel from 1000bulbs.com. I couldn't find it local, but I'm sure that it can found local. 1000bulbs.com had my shipment to me in 5-days via FEDEX; sooner if I wanted to upgrade my shipment priority.

If you're looking for an adhesive that stays put as long as you want it to, but will be fairly easy to remove when the time comes, my go-to is clear RTV silicone. Dries clear, holds well, and peels off pretty easy without removing paint when the time comes.

Well so far so good. The 3M two sided tape seems to be holding well. Here are a couple pics during the day. I love these lights! Jerry.

I have decided to do my reinstallation as you have done to avoid the replacement nightmare I am currently going through with the removal of my original LED strip / 3-M automotive tape.
My trailer siding is aluminum so I see no problem mounting the GIP Aluminum channel to it using screws / butyl tape but does the Frosted Lens defuse the output of the LED's very much? I am trying to decide between the frosted or clear lens before I place my order tonight.
Thanks for your postings..
Well done...

Ted, the frosted lens does to some degree. I have rope lights that I put on the ground along with my LED strip lights so I don't notice it so much. I would recommend the clear lens in your case.

Channel
Love that channel, glad you found it also, makes for very neat installation, and gives perfect protection in bad weather and wind:
Take Care:

ahh so im not blind! thanks...if/when my lights die or a new camper jumps on my truck, ill prob use that channel...looks very clean...
my lights have been stuck to the side o my trailer for cple of years, and only thing i notice is the 4 way end piece is a little weathered......but in all honesty my trailer stays indoors when not in use....so the ammount of rain/sun it has seen is but a small fraction of its life thus far....im sure its got 10x the sun exposure from sitting at the dealer than since i have bought it..lol

+1 on the sun beating up our campers! I'm not so lucky and must store mine outdoors.

Same here! Florida's sun is killing my TT!
The strip lights are turning yellowish, (not the leds, just the silicone/rubber casing) I guess the sun is hammering them pretty bad! And after a year, the red color is fading in one of the ends.

I ordered my channel / clear lens (slightly different design) from the auction site.. It should mount and work very similar to the other channel that is available.

Different style of aluminum channel / cover
This is the different style of aluminum channel / clear lens cover that I procured from the auction page... It comes in 8 ft lengths, and will be easy to make work end to end with a dremel tool.. Once completed, I will post photos..

Pretty sure they dont make the LED Strips in 20' would have to buy 2 LED reels and cut the 3-4 feet section off the 2nd roll, I may be wrong though..
But i bought this kit for mine: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006K0JYD8?tag=p2069-20
I love amazon prime
Edit: Did some research i guess the recommended most strips come in the 16.4 rolls and they say the max you can do is 2 per run, due to the power drop/thin copper..

I bought a 32 ft reel from China off EBAY with mini rf controller and just cut off 11 ft to fit 21 ft awning.

All you're missing is a set of awning tie down poles.

I put our LED strip in last week. Same place. Our CC came "pimped" with the awning remote!
