Hi,
Just buy a kit like this and cut it to the length you need. There are marks where you can cut the strip.

The condo in the background gave it away. Along with the golfcart!

Mini Lite Awning LEDs

Yes, I read every post in this thread before installing my lights. I installed my lights underneath the awning rail using a 5 meter string of waterproof 5050 RGB lights. Used the adhesive tape that came with them. So far so good, real test is this weekend. Bought an RF WiFi controller and mounted it inside the storage area where the power wires for the awning enter. I did not have access to any unswitched power there so I had to run a lead to the trailer side of the circuit breaker where the positive lead from the battery attaches. Ran another to the ground terminal. Was worried about how bright they would be but looks good so far. I can easily add another strip if needed. Do not route your wires like you see in my first photo or they will be pinched when the awning closes. They need to go up and over into this channel. Fortunately I caught this before it was too late.

Notice most folks are using the GIP, which seems to be wider. Was wanted to see what others think?
Thanks
Textman, did you ever try the micro channel?

I have looked at these lights so much my head is spinning. I am looking for plain white, or warm white waterproof lights. No dimming, no fancy colors. I just want to replace the ones that are crap and not working properly on my roo23Ikss, that are hardwired into the wall switch. Which ones do I buy?

I put a set on the 5 er last summer.Bought some 3m double sided tape and everything worked great.UNTIL it hit over 100 for a few days. When I went out to the camper all the lights had let go and fell to the ground.Haven't got around to messing with them this year. Now I'm thinking I need to get the back up.What the heck can I use to keep them up?I'm going to go to a body trim shop and see what they have.Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

DaveandSue,
I used this 3M tape 2 years ago, still holding strong. You have to prep the area with rubbing alcohol before applying the tape.
Good luck,

Just received my lights and they don't work properly. When I hit the W button on the remote they get stuck in flashing mode and the receiver does not respond to the remote.

Also they appear do just have RGB leds even though the instruction sheet says they should have Static White. Here is a link to what I bought:

If you just want white, bypass the control box and hook up 12v to the power lead and ground red, green and blue wires

I don't see in the listing where it says white.

Rgb is red blue and green

All the lights together make a "white"

Thanks but I was able to get them into RGB all on solid and that certainly isn't white. My controller is very quirky. If they get stuck in flashing I have to disconnect the leds from the receiver and then use the remote to change mode with the leds disconnected.

I do have a set of white leds from China. I will probably try to hook those to this receiver.

Either my receiver or my remote is whacked. No rhyme or reason on which button will put them into a quick RGB flash mode. Once this happens the light need to be disconnected and then a different mode selected with remote. Reconnect and then lights will be in that mode. The W and all buttons below W seem to consistently send them into a tizzy.

Even if the seller is willing to send a new receiver it will take a month.

Oh well at least they were only $14.

Neat idea if they worked.
