It is not clear from the eBay ads that there are several different variants of LED strip lights. While they all (kinda) work the same, there are differences.
Some are weatherproof, some are waterproof, some are made from 5050 type LEDs and some have a different type LED called a 3528.
They all will work, so you did not "do wrong."
I like the 5050s because they are brighter.

Very nice. I've never seen a camper with a huge cut out so you can see the kitchen like that. Cool!

Ah, I did not realize what that was. I did see one of those a few weekends ago and thought it was fabulous. We just purchased an old Coachmen and there are no frills. It was low mileage and affordable and in very good condition...I hope. We haven't really used it yet, just one over night down the street as a test.

The outside kitchen imo is the best feature they've come out with in awhile.

Did you fail to mention the sink because you never use it?

I don't mention the sink cause we don't use it as such.
I've installed a pony keg oph coors light in the rear bunk and its plumbed to my beer dispenser. Ie the thing you called sink.
Just sayin

My awning runs right up to the side of my outdoor kitchen. The outdoor kitchen door then provides protection from the rain.
Only I don't drink coffee...
