^ Oh look the sad emoticons are blue, how apropos!

STEPS TO RESOLVE:
I contacted the eBay seller. After some back and forth troubleshooting the eBay seller sent me the reset procedure for the 44 Key LED strip controller (part# 073-004). NOTE: You won't find the part# on the controller.
I will post the rest procedure below.
For me the reset did not work.

Form this the dealer is concluding that the fault must be with the strip. The have offered to send me a new LED strip at no charge. I said sure.

I am now in wait mode again

Here is the reset procedure
HERK PUT THIS IN YOUR LIBRARY.
Thank you for the picture on the controller reset procedure. Glad it worked for you!
Question for you...What all does the reset do? Does it just reset the controller back to the factory settings or does it take out the features like jump, flash ect?
Although my LED's are working fine now, maybe this would also work to reset the DIY 1-6?
I have not played with mine much yet.
TIA,

Actually the reset did not work for me. The supplier thinks my problems is with the actual LED light strip.

The reset sets the controller back to factory defaults.

I am sorry, I re-read your post and I thought you said it worked. Thanks for the info about the remote.
Hope your boat from Hong Kong gets here quickly for you.

Bug Light

On our Crusader 270RET, the bug lite is right at the end of our awning, which is right over the door..with that said, I took all the stuff out of the light fixture and replaced it with the little white box, the ant. wiring and the DC lead tapped into the wiring, which is controled by the switch on the interior..The ant. lead sticks out a small hole that I drilled and caulked, along with the LED Wiring lead I also drilled out and caulked...there is a small amount of wiring from the light box to the LED;s, by placing a Ty-Wrap achor pad, you can hold that down along with the Ant. Lead done the same way..I know a picture is worth more that words...plan on finishing that up this morning..right now its 37 degrees here in Dallas, GA...winters back..

Got home today to the project materials. Had in my mind that the install would be easy by mounting below awning with routing the wiring down the power awning channel and entering the interior at that spot.
However, I can't find where the awning wires enter the RV. By all views, it should be under the dresser, but I can't get access to the area unless I'm missing something. Is anything removable from what you see or do you have any suggestions?

Ready to start this install ALMOST...

After reading 111 pages of comments and suggestions on this project I have the materials in hand and am ready to start making it happen.. I just have one question (at this time) left to resolve. I have decided to mount the strip on the trailer (under side of the awning) vice on the awning roller. Where are you installing your lights? On the underside of the awning / drip rail facing down or just under the lower edge of the awning/drip rail on the aluminum trailer side facing out? Hopefully my picture will explain my question..

I mounted mine on the bottom of the rail that holds the awning material.

Thanks OC....I am with Adony......just where on the underside works best. My LED lights came in, and ya know.....the adhesive is kinda sticky...but is it sticky enough to stay there during hot temps?

It looks to me like the wires must be in the larger boxed out area that is covered with carpet. My guess is that then they are probably running under the floor back to the switch. I would also guess that they left the water works above the floor to keep them from freezing, but since that is not an issue with the wiring they put that under the floor and rain it through the frame since its easy to hide there.

I can get access to the hollowed out area that is behind the box looking area - but I think there may be another channel behind the carpet under that box area. Was hoping that it may have been easier than it looks. Not looking that way. May have to come up with alternate plans.

I am going to mount mine on the under side of the flange, where you have the red line. On mine if I mount on the TT, where you have the blue line, it would actually shine on the awning tube when the awning is rolled up.

Hopefully next weekend I will get mine mounted. I wanted to do it this weekend when I did my other installs but the temps haven't gotten out of the 40's yet and I want some warmer temps to help the tape stick. Although I did plan out where I am going to get my power from and also routing for the wiring.

Hi PH....I was wondering if you mounted it on the TT....would the light shin on the awning...cause it is slanted down a tad....I kinda like the idea of it on the red line too....

Without being there and taking some measurements my theory is just a guess, but by looks of things the power for the awning comes in roughly 6" or so off the side of the dresser. If you can get access to that area, take a look in there and see what is actually there. But if there is no easy access point I would probably take a 1" paddle bit and drill from the dresser into the box and then take a flash light to see whats there.

If there isn't much in that box I would cut an access hole from inside the dresser and then run all you wiring and mount the controller.

Herk had good luck with his using the 3M that came on the leds, but mine came loose within about 2 or 3 days, so I cleaned the rail again and used 3M outdoor 2 sided tape and haven't had any problems to date. I mounted them on the flat surface of the awning rail, not on the trailer itself.

From what I saw yesterday looking at mine, if you mount it to the TT or 5er then the light would actually shine out at the awning itself. But when the awning is rolled up the lights will shine at the tube. If you mount it on the underside of the rail then the light will shine down the side of the camper at all times, no matter if the awning is out or rolled up.

On our TT the rail on the camper that they awning attaches to is actually slanted upward slighty, so its at about a 95 or 100* angle. On ours the light won't shine directly down the side of the camper, but out slighty.

This is how I mounted a double run of LED strips.

I cleaned the awning rail with 90% alcohol swabs and stuck the OEM 3M backed LED strip to the rail. No issues at all.

Hi,
I was stumped on mine too. lol
I measured it 6 times before I figured what the factory did. "Kept saying to myself.. the wires should come through right here" lol.
On my Coachman, they ran the wire down the electric awning arm and into the hole at the bottom of the awning arm.
They then ran the wire in the wall to spit out under the trailer.
I made sure where the hole was going to come through the wall by measuring. I then pulled all the old caulking out of the hole from the exterior.
I pushed the awning power wires down with a screw driver and drilled a small pilot hole through to the interior.
I made sure it was behind a false panel and then enlarged my hole to push the LED wires through.
Not sure if yours is the same but that is what they did on mine.

Led tape

The concern with the LED back sticking to the gel-coat finish was also a concern of mine. Prior to sticking the LED's I did wipe done the gel-coat with 100% alcohol..had a sip myself to make sure is was okay...pulled the backing off from the LED's and place them on the gel-coat...Have not had the coach out on the road, that will be Wednesday to Pigeon Forge...If it does not hold, the yes, the red 3M double face tape will be my choice.. Working up that high is not very comfortable on a step ladder...need something that is higher...
