need foam short queen mattress advice
Our trailer has the short queen mattress size. I hate the mattress. We bought a foam topper at Wally World for a 100 which made a huge improvement...but it is still not up to standard.
We have an iComfort (by Serta) foam at home and love it. They don't list one in short queen.
So looking for ideas. I have seen several in the 300-350 range on Amazon that have good overall reviews. Anyone have experience with those?

Can you fit a full length queen? Our old TT came with a short, but we were able to fit a full length easily

It would certainly be easier if I could, and in that case would already have the bed in.
But no - that is not an option.

We had a short queen in our previous TT. I bought a full size queen from IKEA for about 300. Moved the short queen down 6" and put the IKEA mattress on top and it is the most comfortable. Now have Flagstaff 27VRL with full queen and it is on top of the Serta mattress. Onlything is that now I have to lift the foot of the mattress while DW pulls in slide because the serta tucks under the wardrobe when the slide comes in. Not a deal braeaker by any means.

We bought the $300 Sleep Innovation foam mattress off of Amazon. Matter of fact we have 5 of them and LOVE them. We bought the full size queen for our 8327SS and simply took an electric carving knife and trimmed about 6" of of the end and zipped the mattress cover right back up. There's videos on YouTube. You won't be disappointed.

We too have a Serta I-Comfort at home. We replaced our camper's factory mattress with this one from Amazon in January. We love it!

Mattress over plywood and my big body didn't cut it. Bit the bullet and bought a Sleep Number short queen. Added an outlet under front of bed that is mostly dead space to install the air pump. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

Purchased our Nuform 9" short queen foam mattress on Overstock for about $300 - if you haven't made a purchase from them sign up for the 10-20% discount offer they make when you first start looking - by the time you decide which one the coupon is in your email. Now have a foam topper & heated mattress available for anyone that may want it .....

Here's my $0.02.
Mattresses are a very personal purchase. What someone on here loves, you may hate. Often even a husband and wife will have very different needs in a mattress. Personally, I would not be willing to buy a mattress online without ever having had a chance to try it out first.
If you have a mattress manufacturer in your area, I'd recommend going there rather than buying online without being able to test it out.
Online prices do look attractive compared to the $1000+ prices at the big stores for an iComfort. Mattress prices are notoriously over-inflated, but even a $300 mattress that you don't like is $300 wasted. If you have friends who have a mattress that they bought online, try it out. Otherwise, go to a store.

Overstock.com Can't beat the price or the comfort! Beware, though -- be where the mattress will go before you open it! It will expand! Replaced a select comfort and were much happier!

Do you have an Original Mattress Factory or similar nearby? Since they actually make the mattresses there, you can get pretty much what you want. They made us a short queen foam for our last RV and it was great.

In our old trailer we added semi-rigid foam 2"-4" thick between head end and wall/headboard for sleep times.

I replaced the mattress in my Crusader 5er with a Brentwood and love it. May replace the king in the home with another Brentwood. Got it on Amazon - no problems whatsoever.

I had a queen short mattress in my motorhome, replaced it with a 10" memory foam from Amazon, love it. I have slides on both sides of my coach. The mattress hangs off the end a little when the slide outs are out. Doesn't make a difference sleep wise but the top sheet does not stay tucked in quite as well. It is on my to do list to get a piano hinge and make an extension I can flip out when parked and set up and flip back over when I have to put slide outs in. The mattress squishes up a little when both my slide outs are in but goes flat and right back into shape when they are put back out. Not only is it more comfortable but all my queen fitted sheets fit better!
