Need Help on which LEDS to buy

Our camper already has an LED Strip under the awing (BLUE), so power is already outside and where it needs to be already. HOWEVER, what I would like to do is add another strip to the tube. I would really like to have a color changing strip but I'm not sure what to buy, because I'm thinking that to use remote control/color changing functions, the strip needs to be hooked up to the 120V that correct?

you do not need 120V to run color changing strip lights. The 12V would feed into the controller and then the lights plug into the controller. I made mine so that I Velcro the control box to the tube when I set up and then hook up the lights and power to it. I have a 12V extension that I plug in at the trailer then run along the awning arm to the control box.

Many threads here on LED light strips. All should operate on the existing 12V. One suggestion. The adhesive strips on most LED strips are not designed to handle the conditions they see on an RV. Purchase a roll of 3M Auto trim double-sided tape. remove the backing on the strip and stick the tape to the adhesive side.
