New drop down shelf finally done!

Finally have my newest shelf installed! I made this one from black cherry, maple, red oak and mahogany, with a natural edge. It is mounted right in front of the slide, so it had to be a foldable shelf. We'll use this one as our "charging station" for our phones, Kindle, iPads, iPods, etc. Seems like my counter was always cluttered up with cords, etc. At least one of the brackets found a stud, so it should be sturdy enough for anything we'd put on it.

Talking

Nice shelf. I would forget to lower it or it would swing out some and get caught behind the slide trim.

Great job! I can make out cherry, maple and maybe mahogany? The bracket you used looks nice and sturdy.

There's a thin strip of red oak between the cherry and walnut.

Thanks all! My next two woodworking projects for the TT are a board to put over the stove (I removed the accordion top and put it in the junk pile on our last trip), and a board to go over the sink. Going to use reds and oranges in those boards...redheart, bloodwood, padauk, paela, etc.

now you need to put a switch in the hinge that overrides the slide switch!

Finally going to put that board together this week. So it'll be done for our 10 day outing starting Thursday. I'll post photos.
