New floor in Silverback front compartment

My Silverback came with a sheet of 1/8" plastic for a floor in the front compartment. There are three pieces of lightweight angle support running crossways. We haven't put a lot of weight in here because I assume they didn't intend for you to do so. But the space between the cross supports is wide enough that with a few bag chairs laying in there the floor has already started to sag. I don't really understand why they did this because the weight shouldn't be an issue. This is where they generally install the generator in most 5ers. So I took the plastic out and bought some .090" aluminum and installed it on the floor and put the plastic back on top. The metal only added about 40 lbs. and the floor is much stiffer now. When I removed the plastic, I noticed that the plastic had started trying to pull out from under some of the screws around the perimeter. We have a few bag chairs, a couple reclining chairs, and some plastic folding tables in there, not a tremendous amount of weight. But items like the bag chairs which lay in between the supports would eventually bounce around enough to break the plastic I believe.

Here is the compartment with the plastic floor.

This is what the plastic looks like.

Aluminum installed. Had to do it in 2 pieces. Couldn't fit it in the door.

Plastic back in on top of the aluminum.

And, on the subject of weight, notice the spare tire, by far the heaviest thing in there, came from the factory. The floor really didn't even look strong enough to hold the spare by itself.

Hmm-will have to check ours out tonight. I know the spare is in there along with lawnchairs, tackles boxes ets but now I'm nervous.
