Called Bauer and they said this was an issue they were working on but no fix... I like the keyless entry but I might be removing it to avoid damage to my trailer from slamming the door. Or I might change it to the RV Lock model. -Pat
I'm having the same latch issue. It's a shame because after going through 3 locks, I finally had it functioning well.

I am hoping it will loosen with use. Thought about breaking the warrantee seal and removing a few coils on the spring. Like idea but seems like they migbt not have worked out all the bugs before release. The broken lock was not hard to close. I thought about keeping the broken one actually....

Mine is stiff, but not uncomfortably. The original keyed that I replace would always open to the second latch and have to be held by the dead bolt when traveling. I like this one more every time I use it.

Try this
Bauer Products - Products
If it's a Bauer lock they should have something on their website to help out. If not, give them a call.
Very nice people.

Just got my new Sierra with the Bauer Keyless entry, locks excellent unlocks excellent with the new code., until I closed the door for real time test, the door will lock with superior ease, but will not unlock, I have to use my key which turns super super easy so I know its not binding. Works great with the door open testing it, only lock when door closed. And yes Ive replaced the batteries?.

Even though the lock turns easily when you unlock it with the key, I would try to adjust the latch plate just to make sure there is no interference. Also, when you enter your code, do you hear anything? Do you hear the double beep? If it's silent, there might be an electrical connection problem that only shows up after the door closes. Weird, but let us know what you find out. Good luck.
