After a few years of using the blue camco water filters and the cheap non-adjustable pressure regulator I decided it was time to upgrade. One of the driving factors was the reduced performance of the cheap pressure regulator... I found that the pressure would drop very low before water would start flowing so every time you turn on a sink the water comes out, slows to a trickle, and then continues to flow. The cheap regulator would also make a humming noise sometimes.
I added a welder to my tool collection last year, so of course I had to use that for this project.
Here is my custom bracket to support the filter and regulator assembly
And here it is with the filter and regulator
(the regulator is a bit larger than "needed" but I got it on a good sale... and I should get great water flow through it now!)
I welded an eye bolt onto the bracket to hang the filter assembly... keep it off the ground and keep it clean. The bracket also helps to avoid undue strain on the PVC connection between the filter and regulator.
Here it is on my camper - I have it hanging under the edge and then my short connector hose reaches up to the water connection
I connected it using a piece of Stainless steel wire to loop through an existing hole in the bracket. I just snapped on a carabiner for the test, but I am planning to use a padlock when camping... its easy to use and it will prevent my water filter and regulator from walking away.
Here is my buy list for this assembly (not including some bracket HW and plumbing fittings to connect it all)
