Newest mods

Even though we have not camped in out new-to-us TT yet, we knew there were some things we wanted to change. We added a piano hinge to the storage lid under the dinette seat and its so much easier to use. Under the same seat, it was all open space with a door in the front that opened from one side. My hubby added a drawer on glides so now I have a drawer inside without changing the look of the outside. We found bins at Walmart that fit under the bed perfectly so now things can be kept organized instead of just throwing everything in that space. All the light fixtures in the trailer are the ugly standard white lights. I found a light at an RV salvage for $10 and replaced the ugly light under our cabinet. We painted the outside of the fixture to match our other brushed nickel fixtures. We also found a bathtub faucet in brushed nickel to match our bathroom faucet. It was $10 and easy to replace. Since our night stands do not have drawers, we added drawers to the top and fastened them down so they won't move when traveling.
Our next big mod is going to be putting shelving in the pantry. Click image for larger version

Nice touches you added!

BUT, Oh boy did you open a can of worms and you haven't camped a night!!! You'll find that modding will become a sort of obsession..the more you do, the more personal the TT becomes, and the more you'll want to mod. It's actually fun..at least to me. I'm to the point that I mod for something interesting to do..out of my normal day to day. I just discovered a huge empty area under my bathroom vanity, below the cabinets. Here comes another mod!!

Quality work, Zinger60. I like the hinge on the seat plywood. I think I'll do that on both sides of my booth.

You sound just like me and my husband. We had a pop-up for 6 years before purchasing this 2011 TT, which is our first. We did a lot of mods on our pop up. We love doing mods mainly because it is making it "our" own and also making it more functional for the way we are going to be using it. The previous owner had already switched the mattress to a memory foam mattress, which I bet cost a pretty penny. They also had switched the shower head to an Oxygenics, but it did not have a shut off valve so of course we had to add one

For some reason, our TT was designed with a drawer only under one dinette seat with a non-removable plywood top. We took off the plywood and behind the drawer is the gas line and a lot of the electric so that space can't be used. Under the other seat is where we put the hinge and made a drawer. The drawer doesn't go all the way to the wall so we have room behind the drawer to put more stuff. The sink area has only one small drawer and one little pull down door front with a white plastic thing on it to put your sponge from washing dishes. I thought it was wasted space. My hubby is going to leave the door front the way it is and make a small drawer for that area, kind of like we did under the dinette. Since the sink is under there, it will not be a very big drawer but we figure every space we can use won't be wasted space.
