We recently upgraded to a TT from a popup. There were many purchase to make, but the first of all was a floor jack and a lug wrench that are kept in the right hand storage compartment. My thoughts are that if you have a flat, most of the time you will pull to the right side of the road. This allows me to safely get the tools out without having my back to traffic. If the flat is on the left side I still plan to pull as far right as possible leaving the left wheel on pavement. If needed I will unhook the TV and place it behind me (about 100 to 150 ft) with the wheels turned hard left. This placement is so if someone runs into the TV they will be deflected away from me and if the TV is hit square it will turn out towards traffic. I am a firefighter and this placement is standard for working a crash scene to protect us. It sure isn't fool proof, but gives you a better chance.
I also purchased a torque wrench with correct socket that also stays in the TT, along with a jump battery pack with a built in compressor.
I have been known to over prepare. Hope I never need to do any of the above!
