OC's pin box satellite mount mod
When we got here Friday night our friends already had their dish (on a tripod) set up so we just tied in to theirs.
Today we suddenly started having problems getting a signal...no go, no matter what we tried.
SO, Sneak got out OC's pin box mount and set our satellite dish on it....
VOILA! Signal right out of the gate. In my definitely uneducated opinion, getting it higher up off the ground was the trick.
(OC, Sneak's out takin a pic for ya....will post in a bit.)

BTW, look at the "land train" we have set up in this pull through double site...
In front of our 5er is Sneak's truck
then our 5er
their TT
Their truck
Their pontoon boat
with space left over for another smallish car in front of Sneak's truck.
LOTS of space!

Gotta give Sneak credit for the pole and base plate bracket. He designed it and had a friend of his weld it up.
The other dish (where we could no longer get a signal) is on a tripod right behind that big tree. Friends are still getting a signal with it, but newp, no go for us.

LOL he says he LIKES them silver...doesn't *want* them black. (they match the awning poles too!)
John,
It's Buckhorn Creek COE near Jefferson, TX on Lake O' The Pines.
I posted a thread with a link to it in "off topic", and posted pictures to it somewhere here Friday.
Posted pics in "camping etiquette!"

Thanks Weezer. I think I had looked at that one before, but we still haven't made it westward. Will put it on the list for something in the near future.

Any way of getting a closer picture. Have thought about something like that but never took time to fab and rig up.
Too lazy I guess. Would just climb on top of camper. Agree the higher the better. Especially in WV and PA and OH. Then u can hear it search.
Very cool.

Here you go.
The last pic is of Weezer's, the other two are pictures of mine that I reworked to extend farther out so I could use my flag/light mount also.

Thanks. Will have to do some looking to fit the 5th airborne hitch.
Folding out aluminum chair looks like a candidate and tig welder. Another good project when I get home or if I am lucky might find the stuff on the road.
