OEM fold down bike rack mods for Kayak

I'm curious if anyone out there with the OEM folding bike rack on the rear bumper, has made a kit or mod to hold a couple of kayaks?
So far I cant even find out what that thing is actually called as it doesn't appear to be available aftermarket.

I found the RV Kayak Rack but that requires frame mounted receiver and its very pricey. The fold down rear rack has a vertical mounting post. Wonder if anyone has come up with a kit that bolts into that yet or similar?
It may be too tall with 10ft Kayaks unless it drops down below and behind the rack 16-18".

The rack itself is made by Lippert and you can order it from their site.

I can't help on the kayak part; I'd just as soon put them on the truck before the back of the RV. I saw kayaks on top of a RV recently.

When I had the drop down bike rack we hauled two ten foot yaks standing upright ! Kinda scary , afraid of trees and such . So , with a 4 inch grinder I cut portions of the deck off to allow the yaks to drop about a foot thru the platform . Padded rack sides with plastic " POOL Noodles '. Add a couple of boat cleats up top , no probs .

wanderingbob, you have any pics to share? Not wanting to bolt any thing additional to trailer while its still under manufacturer warranty. I like the idea of cutting out the bottom and maybe make an aluminum guard pan to rivet on. Still want to haul 2 bicycles as well. Very curious to see your setup.

That is that RV Kayak Rack brand. Need a frame mounted receiver and its $1500 for that setup.
Was trying to figure out how to modify the Lippert fold down rack to do similar setup. Or was wondering if anyone else has already done that.
