Outdoor fan?

Sitting here in the heat at Paynes Prairie State Park in Florida, I'm wishing I had an oscillating fan. The outdoor TV mount would be a good place to hang it. Has anyone used that for something other than a TV?

I'm also thinking it would be good to have a mister attached to the front of the fan. It would really help cool the air under the awning.

No but I have been thinking the same as you. It can get unbearbly hot under the awning to the point that it is cooler in the sun than in the shade. I dont have an outdoor TV mount but I am thinking about getting a large pedestal fan to put on my deck to move the air a bit.

I bought a Stanley fan off of ebay. It is yellow and puts out a tremendous amount of air. I'm going to buy one more before the next trip to Rainbow Springs State Park.

We have been using a setup like this for a few years.
Just sits on the ground about 10 feet away.
Does not oscillate. We like it in the 100^ Texas heat.

We bought a pedestal mount misting, oscillating fan at WalMart last year.

Just connect it to a water hose.

What an excellent idea, we have an oscillating tower fan which would be perfect for this kind of setup.
Btw. we run for cover when the mercury hits 90 deg.

Check WalMart...that's exactly how our mister fan is set up.

WalMart had them for $89.00 about this time last year.

How is camping at Rainbow Springs? Is it shaded?

We packed up today for Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, AL. We're heading down tomorrow morning. The fan was one of the first things we added to our regular stuff.

It will be a good mosquito repellent too, due to they are not good flyers, I throw an industrial fan in the back of the truck for the heat and mosquitos.

We use one of these for cooling both inside and outside. It really moves some air.

That $17.00 box fan doesn't give you cooling mist.

If I was trying to go "simple and inexpensive" we'd be camping in a tent.

I'm all about comfort.
I can spend money on comfort or leave it for the kids to fight over. Dang sure can't take it with me.

"cooling mist"
Be that what ya'll call Canadian whiskey?

And your right, but I found out it waters down the drinks to an unacceptable level!

I'd rather have dry air moving around, the misting fans remind me of swamp coolers and leave me feeling damp and uncomfortable.

Dry air does not water down the drinks.....

In Florida, there's no such thing as dry air. Better to be damp, cooler and somewhat comfortable than to be humid, hot and very uncomfortable.
