Outdoor Speakers

I am going to replace my outdoor speakers that are blown and shot. I know they are 5.25 in size but does anyone know the maximum depth of the speaker that can be used? I thought maybe someone has already replaced their factory speakers. I am looking to upgrade to a better quality speaker, but want to make sure they will fit. Since the old ones are caulked in, I cannot simply remove them to see how much space I have.

Unfortunately, that may be the only way to be 100% sure. If there are cabinets on the inside behind the speakers, you can check to see how much the factory units intrude beyond the wall. The wall itself should be cut all the way through since speakers are thicker than most rv exterior walls. The easiest thing to do is to research what u have, usually a cheap marine speaker and find the dimensions on that.

Are they in "pods" or are they mostly tight to the exterior wall?

This is the front and rear view of the speakers I removed from the outside wall. I replaced with surface mount. There was a hole in the side but only had the cable coming thru it.

Thanks...that was what I was looking for. I looked up the specs and the mounting depth is 2.375 inches on your speakers. So now I have idea how deep of a speaker I can use.
