Outside Speaker Install?

Can outside speakers be properly installed on a camper that didn't come with them? I thought about putting something in the storage area but they'd get in the way of getting stuff in and out. I also thought about using an automotive head unit instead of coming off the stereo system in the camper.

Not sayin it can't be done but the biggest problem I see is fishing the wires inside the unit.

My dealer cobbed my install, by installing them low, with the inside cut into the dinette seats instead of theoverhead cabinets. Claimed that there was now way to run the wires up to the upper cabinets. It would have been a better job if they had installed them where they belonged, and had used wire-mold to run the wires.

I forgot the speakers were on outside

oh yes the question asked
there are many good brands
of waterproof outside speakers
with and without wires
I have found the newer type wireless
pretty darn nice with no hassle
and
easy to move to where ever

PLEASE, if you want music outside don't inflict it on the rest of the campground residents. Wear a headset. So many of us have different tastes in music (and pseudo music like Rap), that we don't care to be blasted away by whatever it is that you like to listen to.

I'm seriously considering some 200W speakers that I can play classical opera through. 7-11 stores have found that to be a good deterrent to gangs of marauding teens! It's surpising how two or three minutes of Don Giovanni or The Magic Flute can get the yahoos to leave.

This is mainly for when we have our camper at BBQ competitions. We can make all the noise we want until 11 pm. At the state campgrounds here in SD, there is probably 50 feet between campsites so I don't see a problem there either. I'm a little uneasy about cutting holes in the side of our fiberglass. Not the actual cutting but the potential leaking and delamination. I may just put them in the storage area or keep dragging out a portable radio. If I have to wear headphones I'll go without.

If you have an iPod, iPhone, iPad, or any other device capable of playing music, I would highly recommend the Bose SoundDock or SoundLink. Great audio and with the SoundLink, you can control volume and playback in the palm of your hand as long as you have a compatible Bluetooth enabled player.
