I have a Rockwood 2701SS, In my trailer the speakers sounded like absolute crap (wiring was good, just cheap speakers) they werent even jensens. Above the dinette, above the bed, and outside all sounded the same. horrible. I bought a jensen all in one unit dvd, radio, mp3 etc., Awesome unit still crappy speakers. The mounting depth for these speakers is a problem because of the cabinets above you have to put shallow mount speakers in. I found some shallow mount alpines either on amazon or crutchfield i dont remember, Now the system sounds killer with great bass and doesnt sound like 1981 am radio like it did before.

Also , I always have a table set up outside with stuff on it and I put a 20 watt lepai HI-Fi stereo amp that is really small but sounds incredible with a couple of bose 301 bookshelf speakers I bought at a flea market and it sounds amazing. Crystal clear like a $1000 dollar system. Lepai hifi amp on amazon 19.99 and bose speakers 15.00 used. I ALWAYS get compliments on how good that cheap setup sounds., Last camping trip my neighbors kept telling me to turn it up because they liked the same stuff I was playing but said my stereo sounded better. IMO

When I was in the Biz, Larry Krane (Kraco, clever!) had a dealer show every year, and he had everything from relatively high end to mass market product, at less than half that of the majors.

His warranty was one year, direct replacement, and he even paid shipping both ways! Never had to open or troubleshoot a box. He went for the mass marketers instead of the pros after about two years, and couldn't handle the QC problems on the Taiwanese product.

He spiraled out, but with a nice cush. He is(was) also a big time RVer.
