Outside Wall Antenna Mount

I want to mount an outside CB antenna to one (vertical) side of my 2015 C-class Prism RV.

As this will require drilling holes in an outside side-wall (and also inside paneling likely), I'd like to know what the inside-outside wall cross-section looks like e.g. is there a void between interior paneling and and outside Azdel composite sidewalls?, and also the void's dimension? I think my coach uses aluminum framing.

I'm not getting reliable readings on my stud finder. I'm looking for a driver's side mounting location near the 'cab-over' bunk area just aft of the little cab-over window.

If your mirrors hVe a flat surface on top of its arm you can use hose clamps to attach a Freightliner Casita antenna mount. Then you can mount a no ground plane Firestik antenna and run the coax in behind the door hinges and into the bottom of the door. Works well with no holes drilled and look nice.

On a Class c, great idea is to attach antenna to top of rear ladder and run coax down and along the frame, than back up into the firewall.

I decided to mount a 4 ft. Non Ground Plane Firestik side mount antenna just forward of the little (driver's side) window on my over-cab bunk.

I had to drill a hole through my side-wall and remove enough 'Styrofoam' from the inside wall to secure the mount and access to the coax cable connector. I used an (intentionally) broken off sabre-saw blade for the inside panel and Styrofoam cut-out (about 2" X 4" X 1 7/8" deep).

Preliminary checks show all is well so far, but haven't really tested it on the road.
