Over The Bed Reading Lights- Options

Hi all. We have the common incondecent single pankake light over the master bed. It would be nice to convert these bulbs or lights to a more low level light or light bulb so that it can actually be used for reading while the other person in the bed is attempting to sleep rather than get a face tan. Is there any bulb options or light options that satisfy this need???

Possibly....are there 12V dimmers?? I'm more curious if there are low light led's or regular bulbs available?

We installed battery operated, LED, puck lights under the upper storage cabinets above our bed, and to illuminate our night table areas. Found them at Costco and they come in a set of 6 with a dimmer remote. You can control them as a set with the remote, or manually turn them on/off individually (comes in handy when hubby wants to sleep and I want to read). Used them on our first road trip recently and they worked great. The set cost around $20.

(We're new here - if not allowed to post a store name, please advise and we will delete. Thank you!)

Don't think anything here is off limits! Do you have any photos?? Sounds like exactly what we are looking for.

We've not yet mastered attaching a pic here, but the puck light package and a with/without puck lights pic comparison of our bedroom area is on my little blog here:

I had a strip of LED lights installed on a dimmer behind the headboard. My electrician buddy called them my brown chicken brown cow lights.

As for above us, I also replaced my incandescent bulb with this LED:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0135S7240/

It's slightly dimmer.

I replaced all the lights in my Mirada with LEDs.

I also added small rheostats to several of the lights so they could be dimmed. The two reading lights over the bedroom headboard, and also one of the bathroom hall way lights. Although I used the 36 LED panels, the rheostat should work with LEDs that plug directly into an existing bulb fixture.

Adding a dimmer to LED lighting | 2001 Coachmen Mirada 300QB

On a couple of the ceiling lights that are OFF-ONE-BOTH. I added a resistor and switch to make them a DIM-ONE-BOTH

Adding bathroom light wall switch converts ceiling fixture to LOW-MED-HIGH | 2001 Coachmen Mirada 300QB

This is great for the bathroom when making a 3a.m. nature call. When I turn the light on with the wall switch and ceiling fixture is on DIM.

I also modified the front ceiling light thats used as an entry light, We leave that light on when we are away, but its now dim rather that bright.

Ebay and search RV reading light
There are several.
We have one and it's great. Fairly focused so it does not light
up the room but more of a flood light beam.
Wife has one mounted over her favorite swivel chair.
LED and low watts if you boondock!
We have this one but there are others I like the looks of better now...

The ones we have are right overhead, the fixture swivels but it hangs down and I have hit my head on it getting out of bed. I'm switching to flush mount.

I added these ... stole the idea from a fellow XLR member. Wired from the overhead light that shines directly into your face ... if you are lieing down.
eBay - the seller has these in bronze and others in silver. One touch they turn blue... long touch they are white... touch again turns off.

These are several this seller offers. Based on the photos you might these are larger than they are... most are teen-iny. I do like the glow produced by the acrylic diffuser on that style. The seller is a good one ... one lamp was DOA, and they replaced it quickly, no questions asked.

Link does what I stated. Or almost. These have multiple sellers. The exact pair I have is no longer available with that part number on eBay. Sorry but I can't help you more than that.

Manufacturer Part Number: 2x812155W
