Thank you for your inquiry regarding your Oxygenics Smart Pause. Our Smart Pause when engaged, is designed to allow a small stream of water to flow thru. With shut off valves or devices that shut off the water completely, they allow hot water to build up in the lines which is then forced to the front of the shower head and when resuming showering there is a potential risk of receiving a blast of really hot water. Your Smart Pause is performing as designed.

Interesting explanation, unless you are using a continuous tankless water heater like Girard or Atwood. Those heaters are either on or off based on flow. A small stream of water just fills the hot water line with cold water, you get nothing but a fairly long blast of cold water when resuming the shower. I have to turn the faucet on and off to accomplish the "navy" shower.

Was reading the May edition of Trailer Life today and noticed that Oxygenics has a "New and Improved" shower head that is markedly different from our 2 year old one.

Does anyone have this installed? I like the feature of having 5 different shower setting and having a variable flow control in the handle is wizard!

I plan on dry camping my 1st two trips. Don't want to waste water, only have 100 gallons of fresh on board for 3 people.

Hey guys/gals. I am going to try this as well. Only question I got is what model to buy. Does it matter? What models are most popular for you? Thanks a bunch.

I installed an Oxygenics Body Spa a few weeks ago with a complete shut off valve as recommended by members here. On the first use both DW and I got a blast of cold water when turning the valve back on. I thought it would be warm water? I may take the valve off and put the one supplied with the shower head back on.

I really don't think it matters.. they all see to work the same. I think it's just a matter of color, material they are made out of, shut-offs or not.. the venturi action seems to be the same from the shower heads I've seen. I've been wrong before..

We used the Oxygenics on a recent trip to Cades Cove. It worked well. I don't see a need for additional cutoff valves unless you're boondocking in the desert and really need to conserve water, or gray water.
