Patio rug storage ideas?

Just curious as to what mods have been thought of for transporting your patio rugs in/on your camper. I'm thinking about going with a 6" diameter PVC pipe mounted on the rear bumper with a cap glued on one end and a threaded plug on the other end. Just roll up the rug, slide it in, and screw in the threaded plug. The rug would be kept dry and out of the way. If anyone has any other ideas I would be curious to know. Thanks

At one end of the rug (which is 6' wide x 12' long) I've stapled it to a 1" x 1" piece of wood. It makes it easy to roll up. On our old Class C, it was carried on the roof rack. On the current rig it goes into one of the full-width cargo bays.

patio Rug Storage

Here's more pics of storage tube.

Backside cable attach to frame

front side cable attach and tighten location.

Saddle blocks on both sides between frame and tube.

I used 1/4" aircraft cable with 2" wide stainless bands between cable and tube so cable would not bite into tube.

To purchase end caps from plumbing supply company proved to be to expensive so I made my own out of white plexiglass and wood.
