PD4655 Install Question

I installed a pd4655 converter/charger and was wondering what the small black switch was on the main circuit board? It has a red light next to the switch?

It is used to manually switch between the 4 charge modes. Read the manual concerning the charge wizard and it will explain the function. Typically there is no need for you to use the switch as the converter will switch to the proper mode based on battery voltage and time.

Should the red light be on next to the switch?

Typically the charge wizard has a green led for mode status.
The green led is above and to left of the switch.

The red leds (on this model there are 12 of them, in a straight line to the left of the switch) are to indicate a blown fuse on one of the 12 volt load circuits. Keep in mind the fuse blown led will only illuminate if a load is present on that particular circuit and the fuse is open.

Sorry I thought you were referring to the power distribution board.

My guess and this is only as guess as PD does not have any available literature re what you are describing, is that the switch, and only if it is a maintained contact is to select the battery type. PD has typically used a jumper to do this but it may have changed. As far as the LED maybe it's just a dc on indicator. Looks like a call to PD may be in order.

Sorry, I`m an idiot, I went to take a closeup photo and the switch that I saw was really a raised circuit chip and after unplugging the rv the red light went out, so the light must show that ac current is on.
