Pics of interior wall construction?
Just brought home a Wolf Pup 17rp...one thing it is sorely lacking is storage so planning on doing a few mods and cabinetry to add and better utilize some space. To start out wanna just add a surface mount medicine cabinet to the kitchen backsplash wall, shelf above the rear window, and a folding clothes hanger between the bathroom and top bunk.
Question is...does anyone have any pics of the exposed wall construction? Wall paneling is paper thin and just wanna get an idea of what the rib construction is for attachment options.

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and purchase an electronic stud finder. Easy to use. You will not get picks of wall studs unless someone has removed the paneling. Stud spacing is 16 or 24 inches depending on the builder. That spacing is dependent on time and day manufacturer.

If the stud finder method fails you can sometimes drill a small (1/8") hole in an inconspicuous area use a bent wire to insert and feel the stud location.

If you take the time to look, you will find the mall nails and or seams in the paneling.

That is part of my initial question...is the whole camper on the Wolf Pup built with just 2x2 wood studs for the interior and exterior walls or is it some sort of metal channel/ribs?

I use a stud finder. For some bucks there is one for your smart phone that LOOKS in to the wall more like an exray. Logical planning can help you avoid water lines and electrical.

You might need to contact FR to find out what kind of construction it is- either just wood or aluminum (with wood inside).

Most likely wood studs, the Hyperlites have aluminum framing I believe.

You will be lucky if you find something with 16 or 24. Period. Those walls were fabricated and as a unit in they’re all laminated so the Aluminum frames. The frames are welded together so that the structurally sound for what they’re putting together but not Necessarily on 16 or 24 inch centers. I saw a video on YouTube where they are provided some sort of a cabinet like A medicine cabinet to the wall. They used 5/32 pop rivets To attach it. They actually drilled extra holes in the cabinet to make sure they had enough to hold it to the wall. You can look that up on YouTube I think it was a wolf or a pop that they did it too. That might be a possibility for you.

When I purchased our TT I contacted Coachmen and they emailed my the actual wall construction diagrams with dimensions for all 4 walls.

Not that easy unfortunately...my wall paneling is covered with just a cheap adhesive backed vinyl...no fasteners exposed.

I took the bathroom mirror down and made a cabinet the same size as the mirror which was mounted with 2 screws and added a center support in the cabinet and used screws in the same plane as the holes in the mirror, got lucky and hit wood framing with everyone. Also the cabinet over the dinett had blank panel's on either side of the door,as did the cabinet over the bed, so I gently pryed them off from behind with a small pry bar and made new doors to cover those areas.

Look inside a storage area or under the bed to see wall construction.

"Tom48" and others: My gf gave me one of those amazing gizmo's that can find studs, piping, electrical wiring, etc. for Christmas for my Android phone. I'm supposed to be a somewhat smart person but I cannot get this thing to work at all. The TV ads show someone just placing it on a wall and sha-zam, the studs, plumbing, and wiring just show plain as day. Not so. The instructions even state to move the unit around on circles to "map" the wall and then all that stuff show up. I can actually find a stud easier with my electric razor just my moving it along while the razor is on and listen to the change in sound of the razor.

That's why I just use the good old stud finder. Not high tech enough for anything else.
