plastic spare tire cover from FR

Hidee ho,
We have a 2103 FR Surveyor Sport 220 with 14" rims and I wanted the plastic spare tire cover with the compass logo. Thanks to timr21 and his Jan 2012 post, I called FR at 574-642-3119 and they are still available. When you call, ask the person who answers for the Surveyor Parts Dept and then ask for part no. 20X3249A. My invoice from FR shows they are discontinued but I was able to get the black one. (prices have gone up too as mine cost $119.00 plus freight). While admittedly a pricey option, it sure looks good on our Surveyor and hopefully will help with resale value at some point down the road. I hope this helps those of you looking for one of these.
Happy Camping!
Pete

Looks good! Did yours come with some kinda rack on the back before the spare tire was mounted how it is now?

Hi,
No, when I
moved the spare tire from underneath the trailer to the rear bumper I had to buy a bumper mount bracket. It worked out well though! Happy camping!

This is what mine came with and the metal tabs on your bumper and the way your ladder folds it made me think that maybe you took off the metal tray and mounted the spare to the mount you have now. It's what I'm considering doing because I can't load the tray without first hooking up and pulling the camper out into the street because the chain link fence doesn't allow me to lower the tray.

They also didn't design any tie downs onto the tray. :-(

Hide ho

Hi,
Since we don't use the metal rack we took it off and put it in the shed, saving us what felt like a hundred pounds of weight. Having the spare tire so accessible now beats crawling under the trailer to get the spare if we ever need to use it. If and when we gat another trailer I can put it all back to stock.
Have fun!
Pete.
