Think you may have something here, been wondering what and how to do the same thing, if you have some more photo's, shoot them to me, might try it on the Crusader.
The Check Valve for my condensation fix came in wrong from RV Country, sending the correct one tomorrow, everything else looks great.

Got a 24" pc of 6" pvc tubing and cut a 10" long pc and then split it lengthwise and pop riveted a 9-3/4" length of 1-1/8" stainless steel piano hinge to it and positioned them on the awning gutter to cover the ends of the roller and awning material to see if it would stop the rain intrusion into the ends of the rolled awning material. It worked good on a 1/2" rain, but will leave them un-attached until we get a heavier rain before deciding whether to paint them and anchor the hinges permanently.
