Coiling water hoses
Yes! The water hose never wants to coil back up! Feel like I’m wrestling a boa constrictor.

Power cord storage made easy
We use an “egg crate” and coil it up to store. Easy to carry and lift into storage bay. If you store it so that you have about 4’ to connect to RV and then just uncoil what is needed to plug to power pedestal, you then just slide unneeded cord in crate under RV out of the weather. Keeps it all neat.

Purchased a 50a to 30a adapter and a 30a cord..I use this arrangement for short term camping--1 or 2 nights...50a for weekly/monthly terms... My CC came with a reel and found it took up too much room..friend took it for his elec lawn mower cord/etc

I too have the manual cord reel and would not be without it. After the power is off and disconnected both ends are dragged near the storage bay. Easy to wind. If the cord is wet or dirty my wife will reel and I will wipe it. If clean I do it or she does it without assistance! The water hose is a much bigger PIA now.
We do the same when the 15' 50 extension cord is attached.
I also have a 50 to 30 cord about 20' long that has never been used. Hope to never use it.

50 amp cord
Capt Mike - do you have the reel mounted in the basement of your Compass?

Since going solar, I only use my 30a shore cable when parked at my house between trips.

Great time of year to do this. If you go to Lowe's and purchase a round, plastic, wreath storage container, you'll find that it is VERY easy to store your white water hose. It also makes it easy to drain all of the water out of them as you put them into the container, keeps them clean and easy to move around. The ones that I have easily accommodate 2 hoses plus regulator, etc. I bought 2 of them and use one to store fresh water hoses and one to store black tank flush hoses. I wish that I could take credit for this idea, but someone posted the suggestion shortly after we bought our travel trailer and it's one of the best ideas I've seen.

Power cord is too heavy
Saw on an RV site somewhere to use a plastic egg crate. Coil cord in it. Works great. Crate has handles. Just uncoil what you need. You have to "train" cord to fit in crate. Crates are under $5.

don't need a 50 amp cord but if I did I would cut in 1/2, add the nessessary cord caps and purchase a tupperware container and cut the appropriot holes for weathproofing the connection when I need to use all of it.

Yes, left side, right by the inverter, with the crank on the right side as you face the RV. Four screws into the basement floor hold it securely in place. Works great. I'd take a picture for you, but our trailer is in Alabama right now.

I usually leave my 30-amp cord coiled up and hang it over the end of the rear bumper as the cord connection is on the back of my 5'ver about 1/3rd of the way from the off-door side, leaving enough cord to reach that connection, then unroll just enough cord to reach the pedestal (with surge protector, of course).
You can see it in this shot...
