Just installed barker 3000VIP on camper . <20 minutes after it was delivered I was lifting my 680 pound tongue with the push of a button.
I think even DW could do it.
This device may add a couple more trips a year due to lack of soar back.
Most reviews were 5 stars , anyone have any maintenance tips?
I am trying to figure out a cover for it, more for security than weather protection. I can picture some little kid lifting my camper 18" ...

You could add a battery disconnect to the wire. This would disable the jack when not in use. I put a pail over the top of mine. I use the chains to hold it in place I also store the 7 pin connector under the pail.

I have Husky brand power jack and I noticed that it works even when I have it switched off......???
I did not know you could add a disconnect to the jack, but it seems like a good idea.
I was talking to someone on my driveway the other day, and idk why, but they were touching the jack switch, raising and lowering the tongue......and that was an adult, not a kid

Not sure this direct advice for the VIP3000 but I got one earlier this year as well and love it. Only problems I have had is when the battery is somewhat low it gives me problems only moves an inch or so at a time. I just leave the truck running for 2-3 mins while plugged in or leave it connected to shore power while hitching and works fine.
Currently having issues with battery charging while connected to shore power but waiting til I take the tt in to get the annual roof cleaning to have them look at it. Charges fine while towing and i only have weekend trips planned for the remainder of the year so I can keep it charged while traveling to and from
I place a white plastic bucket over our lift. Keeps the water and sun off, but doesn't build condensation. I was concerned that if I covered it to tight that condensation would accumulate inside the housing causing corrosion.
