providing heat for pass through storage

OK, so I'm home with the galloping crud today and was perusing eBay.

I found this:

Eco Heater NA400S 400 Watt Wall Mount Natural Convection Ceramic Heater 856322003003 | eBay

and I'm thinking...is there a reason to NOT install this on a wall in the pass through storage of our 5er?

There's a 110V receptacle in that bay already and the aft wall is certainly tall enough to accommodate this heater.

Opinions?

(there are some priced much less than this BTW...mid 70s)

I also saw some odd looking "heat emitting" bulbs that are used in lizard/snake cages...normal screw in base, flat surface with what looks like a heat coil inside the bulb...that could be used on a drop light cord, but I like the fact that this is low profile, on the wall and out of the way.

400 watts would be too much for the pass through on my 5er. A 60 watt bulb is plenty. I have seen similar wall mount convection heaters used to heat the bedroom of a 5er when mounted to the wall and they look like a neat idea.

I would not mount this type of heater in pass through when I read installation instructions, would be a safety hazard.

I've also found a tiny Lasko 200 watt freestanding heater....not much more than 6" square that might be doable there as well.

Might be double duty....DH *insists* on heat in the bathroom when he showers, and the one we have for that purpose now is a bit large for such a small space.

Bingo! See? This is why I ask questions here about such things. The hot surface (I figured it was just warm) and having to mount it so far from the floor surface rules it out.

Have you thought about using a possble 2-3" round vent added to the furnace trunk link into the passthrough? Primetime is now doing that plus a vent closer to the water bay to keep it heated. Just a thought.

Might want to check with the mfg and see if it could be mounted on the ceiling of the basement.

It has a duct vent. I'm talking about when it's docked in our back yard with shore power and the furnace not running. Yeah, I know, we need to look in to OC's mod on the furnace fan, since we run a small ceramic heater inside and it would cycle the warm inside air into the bay.

I'm a natural born worry wart, and even though she was winterized, we had temps down in the teens this winter. AND we made one camping trip to Hot Springs last Thanksgiving when the temp was 22* at night. We had no freeze ups, but our camping buddies did.

We bought heat tape for water supply hoses and didn't even use them then. But we had 'em just in case!

(chuckle) Leave it to OC to think outside the box.

BTW, I haven't check for an update, but I'm thinkin' our "last of a dying breed" awning poles will arrive today!

Got lucky and caught this *just* as Best Buy listed them on eBay for $19.99 plus $2.00 shipping:

Lasko White My Heat Personal Small Space Ceramic Heater 200 Watt Made in USA 046013765161 | eBay

I'll dual purpose it as described above.
