Quick and easy weekend mods

We brought the trailer home from storage prior to next weekend's trip and it was time to install a few things that have been waiting since our last Amazon order.

First, some hub caps to cover our exposed EZ lub caps and lug nuts.

They'll be complemented by some chrome trim rings waiting for us when we go camping in NY next month.

- - -

Next up - some cushioning bumpers. We like our trailer but there are plenty of sharp edges and corners waiting to scrape or puncture the unwary.

Sample corner (there are six like this in the bedroom).

Bumper on (I had to notch it to fit the door).

The edge of the top bunk has caught our daughter's legs as she slid down, so we did that too.

The brown works well with the decor and should work well at preventing unnecessary blood loss.

I like the bumper. I swear I'm going to eventually put a bumper pad on the trim of the slideout. I'm always whacking my head on it when sitting down on the sofa.

I need to put some of those cushioning bumpers on both shirt cabinets in our front bedroom. I assume I can find it at the Home improvement stores near by.

My pleasure. I should note that the double sided tape provided appeared to be good stuff (time will tell). But they give you too little for the corners and too much for the straights... so if you buy the same ones I did you might want to grab one of each.

Hope you have better luck with trim rings than I did. My '08 Roo from the factory had trim rings and the center hubs like you put on. After a season or two, I lost a ring - not sure where. Then the next year, lost another - different side.
My experience has been if you take one off, they are susceptible to fly off at any time. However, I never took any of the trim rings off. Found the same thing with wheel covers when I was fleet manager. Plus, my mother just bought a new set of alloy wheels for her Buick because - once off, the factory covers kept flying off.

Just keep checking those trim rings.

Thanks for the tip.

Pantry mod

DH & I spent several hours at Lowe's looking at shelving to add in our pantry. Finally decided to make our own until we found light weight mesh shelves at The Container Store.
