Rain gutter above outside kitchen

Our unit has an outside kitchen. When it rains, the water runs off the top of the outside kitchen door and you get wet when standing if front of the outside kitchen. We have friends who have a Laredo with an outside kitchen and theirs has a section of gutter above the outside kitchen door. Do you think we could affix a section of gutter over this door, or is there another option?
