For one or two pieces that get wet, installed a shower curtain rod across the shower. Clothes drip dry into shower. Used after setting up camp in the rain

hi Fella10
I'm with you on the Laundry drying issue hanging our nickkers
outside for the fellow campers to discuss over their
morning coffee
We found a nifty little electric dryer you can use inside your
rv .Just locate it next to a screen door to vent
I think its only rated at about 800w at 120v and has 3 heat settings

We have a separate washer and dryer in the 5er. Happy wife and happier me as no taking her to the quarter gobblers and hanging around. Also no more forever loads in a combo unit. Worth every penny I and it took a truckload of them.

X2 - I am thinking some of the drier (NO pun intended ) humor is probably lost on the new forum members who have not been exposed to all the good natured ribbing that goes on in the Forums.

We heard the unvented combos were NOT desired. Found out the vented combos only slightly better. The separates are the way to go.

X2 - we have some neighbors that just replaced their vented combo unit with separates.
They told us that it took almost 5 hours to do a load of laundry (from wash to dried). Sheesh, it that time we can do 5 loads in our separates!!

Hanging clothes from an awning or anywhere outside the RV is tacky and something I would nevet do. I use a dryer. They are available mostly anywhere.

Lets try to stay objective. There are over 90,000 members on FRF and they own everything from a PUP w/o a bathroom to large motorhomes with W/D and as such there are many opinions. State your opinion , respect other opinions and move on.

I would imagine some younger members never grew up before dryers were commonplace. My parents never had anything other than a clothesline until I was in the 4th grade. Freeze drying laundry worked pretty well back in the day.

I thought OP's solution to the drying issue was a good use of items on hand and looked better than most I've seen.
I would have taken the comments about my wife and being bored as poking fun but everyone is wired differently, much like our campers, even identical models, lol.
Some campground rules don't allow hanging clothes outside. Others don't care as long as you hang them from your camper. Anything goes at most beach campgrounds.
Our solution was to put 4 small spring rods inside the bathroom skylight. Clothes drip into the shower and the clothes dry fast enough from the air conditioning or furnace vent, depending on the season.

Some CGs do not permit hanging outside to dry. A towel over the awning arm is one thing but agree much more is tacky.

my only thought is that the clothes won't really dry if it's raining, right? Too much moisture in the air...

You got to be kidding, your camping, the man was MacGyver himself, give in credit for being innovated not TACKY. If you get caught in a rain storm is it better to take your close off and throw them in a hamper wet? You have to dry them first somehow.

IMO, there's nothing particularly tacky about the clothes that the OP has hanging in the picture. My concern with this invention is that if, like on our TT, the furnace and/or water heater vent out the front of the trailer I'd want to avoid the extra hot air coming from the vent.
We bought a clothes drying rack at Costco similar to this and use that for towels, bathing suits, shirts, pants, shorts, etc. but I wouldn't hang undergarments out. I'd rig something up in the bathroom if you had to do that.
I have to say that any time we've been camping long enough to need to do a load of laundry, we go to a laundromat - either at the campground or in a local town. Having a washer and dryer in the trailer would be a must for full timing.
