Raising the Floor

So, I'm so frustrated now that I'm thinking of raising the base of my TT (X-Lite 261BHXL) at least 6" or more. I've scraped the plumbing from the black/gray tank as it's way lower than I'd like to see. It's when I'm coming down off the road into a parking lot or something. I just scraped the bottom and usually pops off the cap and scrapes the bottom. It's a matter of time before it rips a big hole or knocks the tanks off.

First, is this a good idea? And if so, what might I expect to pay to have this done? Thoughts?

Thanks.

I've heard that a few have done an "axle flip". You might want to reseach that option.
As for myself, I prefer the lower frame as I'm pulling with an SUV. It makes a more comfortable pull with less wind resistance (also better MPG).

My drive is on a slope so I put some blocks under the tires when backing up, just in case. Haven't scaped anything yet but haven't done much travelling either as we just got it last month.

Hello,

It might be possible to have a factory lift kit installed on your axles? Are they Torsion? If they are leaf springs you can have the axle dropped below the springs.
I have a lift kit on my Rockwood due to clearance issues with the box and tire rub potential.

I believe leaf springs but not sure. Haven't looked though I could probably look it up. How much did that set you back if you don't mind?

I drug the rear of our 262bhxl as well, those rear triangles were pretty much flat. I contacted our dealership as well as a trailer repair facility, both said an axle flip would be no problem. I'm sorry I don't remember exact cost but believe the repair place quoted me around 2k, This was for changing up the hangers and such to a better design.

Your suspension should be leaf spring with the axle sitting on top.
